NEW YORK, New York -- While Jon Gosselin was busy speaking to reporters in an open forum over the weekend in New York City with spiritual advisor to the stars Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Kate Gosselin recently opened up to NBC News' Natalie Morales for a new special called "Her Story."
In the candid chat, which airs Monday night on TLC, the "Plus Eight" mom said her inner circle is shrinking day by day.

"[I trust] a very, very small group of people," Kate told Natalie. "You almost can't blame me. When you look around and very close trusted people who would never cash you in, for lack of better words, and those people do that and people leave your house and tell completely different stories, you tend not to trust people."
And when it comes to making the right choices for her eight kids, Kate admitted it's something that weighs on her heavily.

"What are we not seeing about what is going on? How is this affecting you that we don't see?" Natalie asked.
"I'm awake in the middle of the night thinking, 'Am I making the best decisions?'" Kate explained.
As for Jon, he invited the public - and the press - to sit in on a pseudo therapy session with his newfound spiritual advisor, Rabbi Shmuley, where Jon said he hopes to speak with Kate in private about what has happened to their family.

"I've done it a number of times in a public setting, but I haven't had the opportunity to do so in private," he said of taking responsibility of his actions. "I'll apologize to her for openly having relationships in the public eye - that was a huge mistake. If she had done that to me, I would have been pissed. Looking back on it, it seems like a knife in the back."
Still, Jon maintains his immediate future will be devoted to his children - and will not include a relationship with Hailey Glassman ("We've decided to slow things down and so for right now we're taking a break," he said.) -- or any more reality shows.
"I've been offered 'Amazing Race' and 'Survivor' and all these other shows that may add money to your pocket now, but in the long run, it's nothing," Jon said.
