LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Kanye West has spoken out about the alleged domestic violence incident involving Chris Brown and Rihanna - someone the rap star refers to as his "baby sis."
During an interview on Tuesday morning on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest " on LA's 102.7 KIIS-FM, Kayne said he had seen Rihanna and Chris Saturday night at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party and that news of their alleged violence cast a dark cloud over the Grammys for the rapper.

"I feel like that's my baby sis and I would do anything and everything to help her in any situation... I was completely devastated by the concept of what I heard," Kanye told Ryan. "I was at the beginning of the 'American Boy' performance [with Estelle ] when I really heard, when it kind of got cleared up, of what might have happened, and I was doing 'American Boy' and I was completely devastated during the performance.
" Rihanna is so important to our culture ... to pop music," he continued. "I feel like she is the most important artist in music and has the most potential. Her taste level and her age ... she has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time."
Ryan asked if he had reached out to Rihanna following the news.
"I don't want to speak like more into the specifics... with that situation, but all I'm gonna say is it's so, it's just so devastating," Kanye added. "I feel like, just as a person I don't care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald's that should never happen, it should never come to that, to that place."
