In March's GQ, Justin Timberlake leads list of the "10 Most Stylish Men in America" for his impact on fashion and helping launch trends like hats, three-piece suits and skinny ties.

Where does the singer get his inspiration?

From his step-dad, banker Paul Harless.

He went to work looking "like Richard Gere in [American] Gigolo," Timberlake recalls.

Adds the singer (who has his own clothing line, William Rast), "I was like, I want to dress like that! He was just so cool."

When it comes to dressing, Timberlake likes to be practical.

"I just put sneakers on because I couldn't dance in the shoes I had," he says. "I couldn't leap with just insoles and dress shoes. I would've hurt myself."

Asked for his style icon, he chooses Kate Moss because she "could put a barrel on and it would be some sort of statement."
