Justin Bieber is currently in hot water for allegedly assaulting a photographer last weekend in Calabasas, CA. He and his girlfriend Selena Gomez were leaving a theater in The Commons when a paparazzo tried to get a picture of the couple up close. Supposedly the young singer was angered by the photographer's approach and it led to a scuffle on the sidewalk. Bieber may be facing charges due to the incident, since he is wanted for questioning after a formal complaint was filed with the police.
However, the cherub face pop star has been able to avoid questioning thus far because left the States right after the alleged incident took place. He left to film a short series of concerts at various locations in Europe for an upcoming TV special, "Justin Bieber: All Around The World." Just to add to Bieber's troubles, the project got off to a rough start as several fans were injured at one of the first shows taking place in Norway.
The "Boyfriend" singer could face jail time if he is convicted of the alleged assault last weekend, but many other celebrities before him have had bad run-ins with the press and avoided charges.
While promoting hist latest film in Moscow weeks ago, the "Men in Black 3" star was approached by a reporter who tried to greet him with a kiss. Smith reacted to the reporter by first pushing the man, then slapping him in the face. The entire incident was caught on film, and while it may have been a little embarrassing for the parties involved, no complaints were filed against the former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star.
In September 2010, this "American Idol" finalist was enjoying a vacation day at the beach in Miami, Florida, when he was spotted by paparazzi who quickly started to take photos of the star. One photographer was about 20 feet away from Lambert, but was still too close for comfort. The "Whataya Want From Me" singer lunged toward the paparazzo and attempted to take his camera away and the two wrestled to the ground. Fortunately, Lambert was never charged.
No one could forget the "Hold it Against Me" singer's notorious meltdown in 2007. It became clear the pop princess was more than a little troubled after shaving her head at a tattoo parlor, then just days later attacking a paparazzi van with an umbrella. According to People, Brit later apologized for the incident, insisting she was practicing for a role she was auditioning for and "got a little carried away." Luckily for Spears, she was never charged for the incident.
Back in 1996, the Iceland songstress arrived in Bangkok and was surrounded by the press after immediately leaving the airport. Bjork was angered by the swarm of reporters and attacked one who bravely approached her son Sindri. Forgetting that she was ensconced by cameras, Bjork knocked the woman to the ground and slapped her in the head several times. Even though the incident was caught on camera, the reporter never filed charges.
