Justin Bieber is going on the record to say that he did not father a child, The Associated Press reports.

Is Justin Bieber a father?

"To set the record straight, none of it is true," Bieber said during a brief appearance on Today show Friday. "I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim. It's crazy, because every night after the show I've gone right from the stage right to my car. So it's crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations."

Earlier this week, Mariah Yeater slapped the 17-year-old pop star with a lawsuit, claiming that Bieber is the father of her child. Yeater, 20, claims she and Bieber had sex backstage at the his show in Los Angeles. Three months ago, she gave birth to a baby boy she claims is Bieber's. Yeater has now filed a paternity lawsuit against the singer and is seeking financial support.

On Friday, TMZ.com reported that Yeater originally claimed her ex-boyfriend John Terranova was the father of her then unborn child. After he insisted her claims were untrue, their argument got heated and the police were called, which ended in a battery arrest after Yeater allegedly slapped Terranova three times.

"I just know there's going to be people who are going to make stuff up," he later told TMZ.com after hearing she has made this allegation more than once with a different man.
