Julianna Margulies and George Clooney attend the special screening of "Leatherheads" after party on April 3, 2008 in New York City.Us Magazine
Julianna Margulies got off easy when she filmed the series finale of
ER with
George Clooney , she tells Usmagazine.com.
Clooney, a notorious on-set jokester, used to prank his costars on a regular basis when he filmed the NBC drama.
See then-and-now photos of your favorite '90s stars."There were none," Margulies told Us. "We shot everything in two days. We had no time. He was on a film schedule. I was coming from New York and I had a baby to get back to, so there was no time for pranks."
Still, she was happy to be back on set.
See George Clooney and other stars' yearbook photos."It was a lovely experience -- just going back," she said at the Young Audiences New York Children's Arts Award Benefit in NYC on Monday. "The crew -- some of them had been there since the beginning and being on the set again and working with John Wells who directed and wrote the episode we did.
"And it was like coming home. It felt really good."
Margulies starred on
ER from 1994 to 2000 -- the same amount of time as Clooney -- but had trouble picking her all-time favorite episode.
Find out what a handwriting expert had to say about George Clooney and other stars' signatures."There were so many, honestly. And the sad thing is that having done the show for six years, I actually forget a lot," she told Us, laughing. "But the ones that stand out were the ones that were mostly in the beginning. There were days that we couldn't believe how lucky we were... just because it was so new and different and it was something none of us really realized until we left our little cocoon."
The finale airs in April and shows Margulies -- who plays Nurse Carol Hathaway -- and Clooney -- who plays her love interest, Dr. Doug Ross -- with twin daughters, now in the fourth grade.
"You pick up a slice of their life now," she said. "It's very satisfying."
