Julia Roberts has never had a better leading man than Richard Gere, who starred opposite her in "Pretty Woman." The two had chemistry, so much so that they were to be reunited onscreen in a quite different romance, the romantic comedy "Runaway Bride."
Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant - charming
Next to Gere has to be Hugh Grant, who starred with Julia in the romantic comedy "Notting Hill." Hugh's English mannerisms and charms meshed well with Julia's down-to-earth , American style. Quite unlike the sizzling chemistry that Gere and Roberts shared, Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts were more charming than sizzling. It worked, nonetheless.Julia and Denzel Washington - create dramatic tension
When Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington were paired together in "The Pelican Brief" their was enough dramatic tension to transfer the edgy drama fluidly onto the big screen. Both Roberts and Washington were smart, commanding and shared a perfect balance that is often difficult to create between two larger-than life stars.
Julia Roberts and Dermont Mulroney - a beautiful couple
Dermot Mulroney is the Roberts' leading man and Robert's best friend in "My Best Friend's Wedding." It's too bad the two never get together in the movie. It's bittersweet to watch Julia and Dermont not end up together because they make such a beautiful couple.Julia Roberts and George Clooney - pairing the best
George Clooney is the most handsome leading man with whom Julia Roberts has shared the screen. Two hot stars, beloved and beautiful. What more can you say?Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks - a possible mismatch with a super star
Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks pulled together for the dramatic, political comedy "Charlie Wilson's War." While both Roberts and Hanks played their characters well, I couldn't help thinking the whole time that Tom Hanks seemed oddly out of place when onscreen with Roberts. Both Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks are mega-stars in their own right, but they didn't feel right together to me. The movie was pretty good, regardless, after all, it received nominations for an Oscar, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe.Julia Roberts and Clive Owen - another British match
"Duplicity" brought Clive Owen and Julia Roberts together as co-conspirators on a corporate shake down. The plot of "Duplicity" was filled in via flashbacks, which made it difficult for me to enjoy, but Owen and Roberts worked well enough together in the film.
Clive Owen isn't one of Julia Roberts' leading men that I would like to see her paired up with again. I'd like to see her onscreen again with Richard Gere, Hugh Grant, or George Clooney. I think with either of these leading men and Julia Roberts any movie would be great.
