Judge Orders Bobby Brown to Lay Off the Booze

A lawyer for Bobby Brown entered a not guilty plea on behalf of the singer on Monday to three misdemeanor charges stemming from his arrest last month on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Brown -- the former husband of the late Whitney Houston and the father of her only child Bobbi Kristina -- did not attend the arraignment hearing and his attorney Tiffany E. Feder entered the plea.

The singer is charged with one count each of driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 percent and driving on a suspended license in connection with incident, which occurred just after noon on March 26

The judge ordered Brown not to consume any alcoholic beverages until further notice from court and also not to drive with a suspended license. His lawyer said the license is no longer suspended so he is able to drive. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 16.
