Judge Denies Nick Hogan's Bid To End Jail Isolation

By Access HollywoodJune 3, 2008, 3:36 pm PDT

TAMPA, FL -- A judge has denied a request by incarcerated teenager Nick Hogan to serve out his sentence under house arrest or out of solitary confinement.

Hulk Hogan's son, Nick Hogan (known legally as Nick Bollea), is currently serving an eight-month sentence for felony reckless driving, in a Pinellas County, FL jail. The crash landed Nick Hogan's friend, John Graziano in the hospital, where he remains.

Due to his minor status - Nick Hogan is 17-years old - he is currently in solitary confinement in the jail's medical ward.

On Monday, Nick Hogan's lawyers filed a request asking the teenager be moved out of solitary or to house arrest, as serving his time where he currently spends 16 hours or more alone, amounted to "cruel and unusual punishment."

After a review of his petition however, a judge denied the teen's request earlier today.

In calls released by the prison authority, Nick Hogan told his parents, jail was tough on him.

"It's just like so lonely in there. And I'm laying there, thinking about how to get out of there," he told his mother Linda Hogan. "And I'm just sitting there. And you just do nothing. It's just like a mind f***. You just sit there and think and there's nothing to think about."

The teen said the medical ward's other patients made it particularly difficult.

"It wouldn't be that bad if I could just see other people, but I can't and I'm just in some suicide ward," he said. "There's some crazy motherf***** singing and tapping on the walls."

All I have to say is I feel deeply for both families. People are so quick to judge. True enough that what happened is very bad, but it doesent deserve the chair. Take a look in the mirror because im sure everyone has made some pretty bad decissions as a teenager.

If this was a normal person, not famous, that person would have to spend time in jail and would not even get to request doing their sentence at home. Why do the normal people have to do the right thing, but the famous ones don't? Good for the judge making him serve his time. If he wants to join population, let him, if he hates, then move him back to isolation.

(continued from below) obviously noone here has a teenager. if u had, u see that all tery and linda r doing is tryin to keep him calm. to nick, solitary is as bad as a hospital room. my heart goes out to both families. why dont everyone leave them alone and let them deal with this privately? look in the police logs in ur own paper. this tragedy happens to everyday people who allowed to cope.
