For the latest incarnation of Dracula, Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been cast in a 10-part mini series that promises to be a fresher, sexier interpretation of the classic vampire tale. As if vampires need to upgrade their sexy image. Rhys Meyers, best known for his roles in "The Tudors" and "Velvet Goldmine" brings his high cheekbones, intense eyes and pouty lips to a long list of male hotties who we wouldn't exactly say no to if they wanted to nibble on our neck. To name a few:
Johnny Depp - "Dark Shadows": Who can resist Depp's quirky and colorful interpretation of the TV series' Barnabas Collins. As the ultimate fish out of water, Depp brings his signature offbeat edge to the Collins character as he struggles to catch up with the passing of time. It makes us just want to take him by the hand and go along for the ride.
David Bowie - "The Hunger ":Bowie as John the cellist vampire embodies sexy prowess as he and partner Miriam open the film by hunting for prey in a New York City nightclub to the backdrop of death rock band Bauhaus playing "Bela Lugosi is Dead." It may be one of the greatest rock 'n' roll vampire scenes ever filmed.
Robert Pattinson - "The Twilight Saga": As vampire Edward Cullen, Pattinson's good looks serve to be the ultimate forbidden fruit. The boy REALLY is from the wrong side of the tracks. While mysterious and brooding, he is also heroic in saving his damsel ever-in-distress (the supernatural powers are a plus.) And who really can resist a guy that sparkles in the sunlight?
Tom Cruise & Brad Pitt - "Interview with the Vampire": Author Anne Rice originally protested when Tom Cruise was cast in the role of Lestat from the wildly popular book series, but we bet she regrets that now. Teamed with fellow mainstream heartthrob of the moment, Brad Pitt, the film offers your choice of hotness - Tom Cruises' cold, heartless vampire to Pitt's guilt-ridden, softie Louis. Both played their characters to the hilt in an overdramatic fashion, even for vampire lore.
Ian Somerhalder & Paul Wesley - "The Vampire Diaries ": Based on the book series, our two hunky vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon are both opposite in nature but have the same taste for women, and blood. Viewers get to pick good boy or bad boy in their fantasy of being the much sought after Elena. High school was never this interesting.
Stephen Moyer - "True Blood ": Just a nice southern gentleman who tends to flash a fang once in a while. Moyer as vampire Bill Compton causes quite a scene in small-town Louisiana. But with tall, dark and handsome looks like that, who cares what people think?
Say mister, wanna go for a bite?
