READING, Penn. -- A week after filing divorce papers, Jon and Kate Gosselin have decided to stop airing their family's problems through the media - at least for now.

"During this very difficult time we will be working to focus solely on the needs of our family. This includes no longer commenting publicly or reacting to media stories and speculation," the statement noted.

On the June 22 episode of the show, the highest-rated episode in TLC history with 10.6 million viewers, the couple announced they were separating. Two days later, official divorce papers were filed.

I think that Jon really needs help. I give Kate a thumbs up. I think that she is doing the right thing with her kids. I just think it was a good that they quite the show for a while because they need to get things straightened out. She has to be there for her kids now. I am glad that she is not like Jon, taking off and and going on a trip. Those kids are going to grow up, realize what is going on.

You guys crack me up. You write "facts" like you were there, like they called you and shared these personal facts. Get real, what you are repeating is crap you read in the tabloids. Hey I saw today that Elvis is alive and well living in West Virginia, it was in a tabloid, must be true. These people are real, faults and all, but I still love the show AND KATE...

Jon is the one out vacationing with his little teeney bopper, not her. When she was away it was business, making money for the family and her kids future. Why everyone is picking on her, I don't know. Jon was caught out at 2 am with college coed, he was the one dating someone while married and now he's dating yet another college coed. Dont worry he'll dump her, he isn

Is Kate a powerful woman? Hell ya, good for her. Jon allowed her to run the house because he was way to layed back to take control. Don't complain that you don't have control if your the one who gave it up willilngly. A little OCD? hell ya, but if she wasn't as organized and demanding can you imagine what a crazy house that would be? I give her major thumbs up.
