Joe Simpson - Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's father - was arrested for DUI earlier this month, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
The 54-year-old was arrested at approximately 10:15 PM on August 4. Simpson was stopped at Ventura Blvd. and Columbus Ave. in Sherman Oaks, Calif., a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told Access.

He was taken into custody and released the following day.
Simpson's bail was $5,000.

The LAPD spokesperson was not able to confirm if Simpson took a breathalyzer test following his DUI arrest.
