Celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels must be feeling like the biggest winner right now! In the span of one week, she's become a new mommy twice! First, her partner Heidi Rose gave birth to their son Phoenix, and then within the very same week her adoption of a two-year-old girl, Lukensia, came together. Lukensia was adopted out of Haiti. What a whirlwind of a week!
According to People, Michaels says that she's "swimming in babies over here." The former trainer on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" said that she's been focusing on enjoying the new experiences with her son and daughter. "I don't even answer email. I don't have time to care about anything else. I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don't want to rush any of it."
Jillian becomes just the most recent entrant into the Celebrity Adoptive Mommy Club. Here are a few more celebrity mommies who have recently adopted.
Charlize Theron - Just a couple of weeks ago the "Monster" actress announced she had adopted a baby boy named Jackson, who had been born in the United States. The Oscar-winning actress is taking a shot at going the route that Sandra Bullock did as an Academy Award winning, single adoptive mom.
Viola Davis - Though she didn't take home the Oscar statue for her work in the critically acclaimed "The Help," Davis did adopt a daughter just after being nominated this year. Little Genesis becomes the third child in Viola's home as her husband Julius Tennon had two kids from a previous relationship.
Mariska Hargitay - The "Law & Order: SVU" star knows a thing or two about having a celebrity mom. She's the daughter of Hollywood icon Jayne Mansfield. Mariska and her husband adopted two babies in six months. In early 2011 the couple adopted their baby girl Amaya, and just a few short months later, they adopted their son Andrew.
Kristin Davis - For years "Sex and the CIty" fans watched Davis as the buttoned-down Charlotte, and on that show her character had troubles conceiving and eventually winds up adopting. Last year, life imitated art as Davis adopted her baby daughter Gemma Rose in October.
Katherine Heigl - In 2009 the "Knocked Up" star adopted a girl with her husband Josh Kelley. Their daughter Nancy Leigh (Naleigh) was given the gift this past April of a new baby sister, Adalaide Marie Hope Kelly.
