According to TMZ.com, as Simpson and her entourage were leaving L.A. eatery Madeo, they were mobbed by photographers. In the madness, one snapper hit Paves near his eye with a part of a camera, leaving him with blood trickling down his face. (Watch a video of the chaos).
Once Paves got in the car, Simpson's driver took them to Cedar-Sinai hospital in West Hollywood, where she accompanied her friend inside the building.

As of right now, no police reports have been filed.
Earlier in the day, Simpson attended her sister Ashlee's baby shower at the Bel Air hotel.
