The multi-faceted personality is revealing that she has dropped her baby weight and then some. Simpson gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in May. The fashion mogul is a Weight Watchers spokesperson. Her weight loss journey included sixty minutes of daily cardio plus presumably the famous Weight Watchers points program. Simpson revealed her slimmer physique at a Florida event for her clothing line.
Jessica's pregnancy was earmarked in part by her weight gain. Late night comics, bloggers, doctors and pundits all felt that they had a right to weigh in on her weigh ins. Jessica said about her weight gain, "I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it." The "Fashion Star" mentor explained, "I wanted to be happy and eat what I wanted."
Jezebel.com even wrote a piece about the controversy named "Remember When Pregnant Women Were Allowed to be Fat" and called the issue "the hunger shames." While other celebs seemed to be counting every calorie, Jessica brazenly put on the LBs. Simpson, 32, even had to explain her size to talk show host Jay Leno, 62. "No, it's not twins," she told Leno. "I know it looks like it."
Nonetheless, Jessica touted her body love, making a courageous video for ELLE about how much she loved herself with the extra weight. She also admitted that she felt more comfortable in a bikini with her pregnant body and joked about becoming a nudist. Jessica even channeled Demi Moore on an ELLE Magazine cover.
Let's look back at the key moments on Jess's body journey!
Simpson played Bo and Luke's sexy cousin Daisy Duke in the updated version of "The Dukes of Hazzard." Naturally, she sported the cutoff jeans named after her character for the role in 2005. Jessica confessed recently that she thought all of the weight would vanish once she gave birth. While fans eagerly anticipated a big post-baby weight loss reveal, Jess simply said, "My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel."
Who can forget the "mom jeans" moment? Jessica deigned to step out in denim pants that are called high-waisted when in style and "mom jeans" when out of style. Jessica was bullied by the media for the look in 2009. Several media outlets are currently running stories about stars rocking the currently en vogue look.
The one-time VP candidate has reinvented herself as a fitness guru. Yes, the already slim Palin has reportedly lost weight and is penning a workout book. Despite her own personal regimen, however, the former Alaska governor came to Jessica's defense when others maligned her for her weight. Palin said, "This isn't even an issue." She added, "Hollywood . . is full of itty-bitty people, people [who are] unrealistically tiny."
Simpson's fiance Eric Johnson also seemed to remain supportive throughout the entire journey. Big, small or anywhere in between, we love Jess for her fab shoes, female entrepreneurship and couldn't care less attitude. Good luck, Jessica! Continued wellness to you and baby Maxwell.
