In a 2007 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she recalled a conversation she had with pal Ken Paves .

"Do you think the guys in here are all really looking at all those skinny girls and thinking, Wow, I want to get with her? Or are they looking at the girls with the curves and thinking, Yeah, I want to get with her!" Simpson said.

"Curves are better," Simpson added. "I don't get the whole rail thing. It's not good for your heart, it's not good for your mind; it's emotionally destructive, it really is."

i think jessica simpson is conveying a positive message to all women in the world..that reagrdless of what your weight is what matters is the person you are inside...people are being so idealistic about whats sexy and beautiful is, and its good to know that there is someone like her that is proud to embrace her curves! you go girl!

I never really cared for Jessica Simpson's music. However, I now consider myself a "fan" for alternative reasons...Anyone who can break the "Hollywood standard" mold and set an example or send a message about body acceptance (regardless of what effect it may have on her career which is so dependent on shallow/superficial features) is so so so brave and

my niece is 4 years old and is already calling herself "fat" and "chubby" and thinks she needs to lose weight....4 years old. I'm glad the media is pounding the idea of being a stick figure into girls' brains. It's really healthy for them to lose all self-confidence before 5. Let people be people regardless of weight. It doesn't

Most of the folks writing about Jessica's weight is simply jealous or just plain crazy because she is one of the most beautiful women on this planet plain and simple. If only they or their wives or girlfriends could look half as hot. I think she looks even better with the curves!! You rock Jessy baby!

She is a beautiful women regardless. Yes you can tell she gained weight but who cares, everyone does. I think hollywood should shut up and get there fingers out of there throats and stop it with the image is all that. Yes, everyone should want to look good and presentable but not unhealthy and under nourished. I really feel bad for the women in the lime light, too much pressure to look good.

Calling Jessica and others fat, who are not a size 2 or 4 is sending a negative message to all women and girls- that they need to be a size 2,4, or 6 to be considered attractive. This is not true!! Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and this is the message we should be conveying! A positive message will encourage women to be satisfied with their bodies, put them in control of their lives, and
