    Jessica Simpson: 'Pregnancy Is A Friend Of Mine'

    Jessica Simpson's first pregnancy has been a breeze -- so far.

    "I feel great, I honestly do," the 31-year-old star told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush on Tuesday.

    "Pregnancy is a friend of mine, so everything has been running smoothly," Jessica, who was promoting her new Beauty Mint skincare line, continued. "So far, so good - no morning sickness. I feel great. I'm tired, but you know, I'm making a baby here!"

    The mom-to-be did reveal a few changes that have happened to her body, saying she's had "swelling in the belly and boob area."

    Jessica - who announced her pregnancy last month after much speculation - revealed that she decided to take the test without first telling fiance Eric Johnson.

    "I did the pregnancy test. I was feeling a little off," she recalled. "[I first told] Eric, of course. He was in the house. He didn't know that I was taking a pregnancy test, so I kind of shocked him. I came in shaking like, 'Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! This is happening!' We both cried. We were in shock and kind of just sat there and stared at each other."

    Jessica and the former NFL player, 32, will welcome their new addition to the family in 2012.

    "I am having a spring baby," she told Billy. The happy couple announced their engagement in November 2010. Previously, they said they hope to wed by Christmas 2011, but Jessica told Billy they now plan to push their nuptials back. "We were going to throw something together, but I'd rather put more time in it and be able to really enjoy the day," she continued. "When you're pregnant, your hormones go crazy. I don't want to be super stressed out and end up being a bridezilla! So, I'll wait until after."

    The singer/fashion mogul and upcoming star of NBC's "Fashion Star," said her days of being in front of a camera 24 hours a day appear to be behind her.

    "Letting everybody in on every detail of your life, that's a hard thing to do," the singer explained. "I feel like, for me, those days are over, but I can always be who I am on camera... I'll always be myself."

        I wish them all the best. Jessica has always seemed down-to-earth and very real. My one negative thought is that it would be refreshing to see them have a small, quiet wedding before the birth of their child. I'm just sayin'.

      I like Jessica, she's refreshing. I think she'll be the better person for not living her life on tv. Unlike a dark haired family that will remain unnamed.

        She learned a lesson the hard way, selling out to Reality TV. I am so happy she learned her lesson and won't take this child or relationship down the same path. Another big difference with Jessica she doesn't have a Mother out there pandering her children to the highest bidder. Kris Jenner has no talent other than who she bedded. So she had to peddle something to make a buck. Bruce isn't burning up the world with his high income. So let's see what does that leave? Sell the kids....on TV! You are so lucky to not have a starving "manager" for a parent.

        She has already had one lavish wedding. Get married now and have a big party after the baby. I am so tired of Hollywood stars and athletes showing our children such bad examples. They are supposed to be role models. Our world is screwy and in a bad time.

        Melinda, I agree with you 100%. Whatever happen to getting married first then plan a family. I am always stressing that this is not what God intended man and woman to do. Baby 1st then marriage if that even a option.

      Sounds to me like she has a good head on her shoulders regarding the baby and getting marrried. Planning a wedding right now would put stress on her that she and the baby don't need. It's not like the baby daddy is not in the picture and won't be there to help. Jessica has obviously matured alot since her marriage to Nick. I wish all three of the them the best.

      Wow, are there so many perfect people in the world that they have to pass judgement on each other? Why can't we go by the old saying "If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything"? The world is made up of so many different people, and that's what makes it a beautiful place. Why can't we all just start small, like give one compliment every day, offer an older person your seat, say please and thank you? Being nice is a stress reliever, seeing someone smile usually makes the other person smile.

      I really had an issue with Kardashian putting on a multimillion dollar wedding so she could pretend to be a princess for the day. There are so many Americans out of work and losing their homes. Help your neighbors out, but don't spend millions of dollars that most people will never see in their life time. I love Jessica and I think it will be tasteful, but nothing as garish as the Kardashians. They should be ashamed.

      I heard her fiancee won't sign a prenupitual, and if they divorce, he wants 1/2 of all her assets. I say drop him and raise the baby yourself. Seems to me he
      's more inerested in her $$$$$$. I think he has a nerve, but at least she's finding out before she marries him. She has the$$$$$ for help, and if he is a leach, she is better off without him.

      i see what she means by being huge, like full term pregnancy and having a wedding.. no way. so i understand that. im glad for her, she sounds happy... i think she will be a good mother.
