Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel opted for a honeymoon experience that you don't normally associate with celebrities. Instead of visiting a typical island paradise, the newlyweds decided to go on safari in Africa. Shortly after their glamorous Italian wedding, the couple flew to Tanzania to begin their first trip as a married couple. Of course, Justin and Jessica are also enjoying some beach time, not to mention luxurious hotel accommodations. Still, you have to give them credit for something different because not many famous couples honeymoon on the African continent. Here is a look at some of the other famous pairings that celebrated their nuptials with a trip to Africa.
Princess William and Princess Kate
Following the epic event that was their royal wedding in 2011, the prince and his bride honeymooned in the luxurious Seychelles islands off the coast of East Africa. The secluded islands are known for beaches, scenic trails, and diving areas. The fact that the royal couple decided to honeymoon in Africa shouldn't be too shocking. William and Kate had previously proven their affection for the continent by getting engaged in Kenya.
Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky
Former President Bill Clinton's daughter married Marc Mezvinsky in 2010, and the couple embarked on a South African honeymoon to celebrate. Like Justin and Jess, the couple opted to stay on the mainland and enjoy a safari. Not surprisingly, the two went to great lengths to keep their honeymoon details a secret. In fact, the Clinton family declined to comment when reporters asked if the African rumors were true. Obviously, the newlyweds went far enough way to enjoy some privacy from the paparazzi.
Prince Albert and Princess Charlene
African honeymoons seem to be just right for royalty. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the son of famed American actress Grace Kelly, enjoyed a 2011 honeymoon to South Africa along with his bride Princess Charlene. The storybook honeymoon was polluted by rumors of animosity between the two, which was likely tied to a paternity claim against Albert at the time. Still, the honeymoon location had to be special to Charlene. She represented South Africa as a swimmer at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
