It wasn't easy for Jessica Alba to lose the baby weight.

"[The workouts] were horrible," Alba -- who dropped the weight for her Campari calendar shoot -- tells February Elle. "I cried. And I haven't worked out since."

Giving birth to daughter Honor last June was less difficult, she says.

"Contractions aren't that bad. If you've ever had bad cramps? That's what they're like," she says. "But that moment when they put the baby on your chest that's deep. It's a deep experience."

Being apart from the eight-month old is hard, she admits.

"This is the first time I've been away from her. It's been six days. It sucks; it's the worst thing ever. But we Skype, so I can see her on video. The worst is when you can see her little chubby hands grab the screen, and I'm not there" she says, wiping away tears. "That's a new thing I never cried before. Just being a mother is making me a big, weepy mess."

Alba also opens up about fashion.

"I've always loved beautiful clothes, but I'm not very hip to the coolest, newest, most fashionable thing. I've always liked mixing casual things with nice, beautiful pieces mixing masculine and feminine," she says. "I just didn't always know how to do it. As a kid, I bought random, thrift store stuff and hoped that it worked. Sometimes it didn't."

But husband Cash Warren doesn't care what she looks like.

"Whether I'm dressed as a boy or wearing a gown, he's pretty cool about it all. He doesn't want to change me. He's always like, "Okay, whatever makes you happy."

Alba credits her fame to her exotic looks.

"There aren't many other stars, besides Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez , who most people in the world can relate to," she explains. "We look like people of the world -- I can kind of mix in with girls in Asia, South America, Europe."

Actors are overrated. They get paid millions of dollars just because they entertain. This coutry is getting worse and worse. Soldiers should be paid millions, not stupid entertainers!

Did she really say that contractions aren't that bad, and compared them to cramps? She must have had a heck of an epidural because true contractions feel like someone is slicing you from the inside with a knife.

I've seen Jessica Alba's movies and they're good. But I would not agree with Julie. I don't believe shes that talented an actor and I believe being payed millions upon millions is ridiculous. Americans have to step away from our current society which is fascinated with celebrities and continually glorifies them.

All you sycophants who gush over celebrities make me want to hurl. Jessica Alba chooses her career over her baby and weeps and whines about being away from her? Give me a fracken break.

Oh and by the way, Jessica Alba never reads these comments, so it's hilarious when you "address" her directly!

There's a reason she makes millions of dollars in her career! It's because she's GREAT at what she does! Anyone who says things like, "she's the WORST actress, or she's UGLY without makeup" is displaying obvious signs of insecurity and jealousy... GROW UP.
