Jennifer Lopez has confirmed she is leaving ‘American Idol’ after judging for two seasons. She told Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show on June 13.

As we told you yesterday, Jennifer Lopez has decided it is her time to leave American Idol. This comes just one day after fellow judge Steven Tyler confirmed his departure in a statement to FOX.

Jennifer told Ryan, “You know, it has been a long process, and Ryan, you know this more than anything, that I am talking about the absolute truth, in the sense that I really have been torn since we spoke about it, even before the finale. When I signed onto Idol, I signed on to do one year. And I ended up doing two years, because I just fell so in love with the show, everybody there, you guys. You know that. I always said I never felt so much a part of a family of something working on it as I did in Idol. I didnt know I would be so moved emotionally working on the show, working with the contestants. It was just such a lovely surprise in my life to do it. But even last year, when I had to make the decision, it was super tough. It was super tough to decide because I felt like for one year… six months it was fine. Or whatever it takes to do the whole show, it runs over like seven or eight months. And I said one year was fine, but then to go back and do it again, I was like ‘Oh, God.’ You know, I have my movies and my music and my this and that. And it all kinda worked together for a while. But it gets more complicated as the kids get bigger and I just started feeling like it was a lot and something had to give. Something has to give. And that’s where I am right now.”

She added, “I dread a conversation like this and you’re going to make me cry. I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I put on hold because I love Idol so much. You have a lot of other responsibilities and you have a lot of other things you do. And you have to pay attention to that, too. I could keep just doing Idol for the rest of my life but that would be giving up a bunch of other things. I just feel like we had an amazing run.”
