Jennifer Aniston is in love, but is she in love with the idea of an actual wedding? The "We're the Millers" star recently told the Associated Press that she and fiance Justin Theroux are in no rush to walk down the aisle.
"We just want to do it when it's perfect, and we're not rushed, and no one is rushing from a job or rushing to a job," she said. "And, you know, we already feel married."
It's been a year since Theroux popped the question, but Aniston insists a wedding date was never set. "There have been no canceled weddings. There have been no postponed weddings. There have been no arguments about where to get married. Just clearing that all up," she said.
Still, Aniston's extended engagement brings to mind some past brides-to-be that never made it down the aisle. Here's four celebs who are always a fiancee, never a bride.
When Oprah Winfrey got engaged to longtime love Stedman Graham back in 1992, her loyal talk show fans were among the first to know. Two decades later, the OWN head honcho is still with Graham, but they never got hitched. In an interview for O Magazine, Oprah addressed the couple's never-ending engagement.
"It turned out that I wanted to be asked to be married more than I wanted to be married," she said, blaming BFF Gayle King for the big media brouhaha around the news. "It just felt like the wrong thing for me. And what we have discussed is the fact that had we gotten married, we would definitely not still be together. Because instinctively, I understood that to do what I do every day is so nontraditional that it would have been difficult to try to conform to a traditional way of being."
Once upon a time, "Sharknado" star Tara Reid was engaged to TV host Carson Daly, but the wedding was put on hold before being canceled for good in 2001.
While the couple's split left Reid feeling regretful, Daly told Elle: "To some extent, I dodged a bullet. I was getting serious about my career, and she wanted to shoot movies and just party in her time off. That didn't work for me."
Reid later said in a TV interview, "I think, `Well yeah, if I would have married Carson, I'd probably have kids by now... I wouldn't have had all that crazy partying. But, you know what if that was meant to happen, it would have." She sped things up the next time around, though. In 2011, the actress announced that she was engaged and married to boyfriend Zack Kehayov all within hours, but later told TMZ the wedding wasn't legal.
Oscar-winning "American Idol" alum Jennifer Hudson and her fiance David Otunga have been engaged forever, but when she recently turned up at an event without her bling, breakup rumors swirled. Last year the star told Oprah, "There is a wedding date" and vowed it would take place within the next two years.
And if you want to keep up with Kourtney Kardashian's wedding plans, you may be kept waiting. The reality star isn't planning to marry the father of her two kids, Scott Disick, anytime soon.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Disick said, "I think if it's not broke, don't fix it. You know what I mean? I feel like I used to want to get married more than she did, and then, being that she was always so not interested, I've decided not to be."
