She is the first original cast member to join the new series.

According to The CW, Kelly Taylor will return to her alma mater, West Beverly High, as a guidance counselor.

Last month, Garth dropped out of a CBS comedy pilot ("My Best Friend's Girl"), fueling speculation a "90210" return was in the works.

The split was described as a mutual decision between the actress and the producers of "My Best Friend's Girl."

In the new spin-off, Garth joins the previously announced Lori Loughlin, Dustin Milligan, AnnaLynne McCord, Ryan Eggold, Jessica Walter and Shenae Grimes in the new "90210" cast.

According to E!Online, the new "90210" series has also received a pickup from The CW. The network is expected to make the announcement during next week's upfront presentations in New York.

It will only suck if they don't have Shannen Doherty back. She is...was...and made the show. Never watched it after she left. Same with Charmed. Shannen Doherty is the show!

Its going to flop, it was big in the 90's but tastes change (and so does the mentality of viewers who used to watch that). MY problem with this is that it's not a new concept, plus, they are already stealing it from Saved by the Bell (remember screetch coming back as a counselor or something?) I guess their ideas ran dry so they have to fill the slot with SOMETHING, you shoulda cal

I was a fan of the zipcode show. Hell, I even catch a few syndicated episodes from time to time. But, this is a huge mistake. I just don't think you can recreate the success this show once had with a spinoff. Highschool dramas are clearly quite popular now without the sentimental attachment of a 90's era drama. If Dancing with the Stars didn't kill Jenni Garth'
