Jay Leno's Last Tonight Show Set for May 29

Us Magazine - July 21, 2008 8:38 PM PDT
Jay Leno's last Tonight Show will be Friday, May 29, NBC announced Monday.

Late Night host Conan O'Brien will take over the 11:35 p.m. time-slot on Monday, June 1.

Comedian Jimmy Fallon will succeed O'Brien, 45, on Late Night in March or April of 2009 after a stint of web-only editions.

"I hope to make it the best show and a great show for everyone to choose me to fall asleep during," Fallon, 33, said in May.

There has been much speculation that Leno, 58, will jump to another network when his NBC gig ends next summer.

I agree with the last two posts. I will not watch Conan. Leno is a class act.

I don't like Conan. When he takes over the tonight show, I will watch Letterman, or wherever Jay goes.

O'Brien will probably kill off the Tonight Show! With a tradition going back to greats like Steve Allen, Jack Parr, and Johnny Carson, the Tonight Show has always been about being a "class act" and showcasing the biggest stars in show business. O'Brien's idea of humor is a masturbating bear and dragging Abe Vigoda across the stage in a bathtub! NBC is r

Conan will be so much better than Leno. Leno will go over to ABC thinking he will pioneer thier dead late night schedule. It's all about who will pay his greedy ass the most.
