NEW YORK, NY -- Jay Leno is sticking with NBC, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
Leno, who is ending his run as the "Tonight Show" host in 2009, when Conan O'Brien will fill the legendary seat, is signing on for a new show similar to his current one Access has learned.
Leno will reportedly head up a 10 PM show, five nights a week, thanks to NBC executive Jeff Zucker, who reportedly came up with the idea, according to The New York Times, which first reported the story.
According to The Times, the new show for Leno will be filmed on the current NBC lot in Burbank, while the "Tonight Show" will move to the Universal lot in Universal City, Calif.

Leno is expected to make the announcement on Tuesday.
In 2004, NBC promised the "Tonight Show," job to "Late Night" host O'Brien. As time crept closer to his "Tonight Show" start date, industry analysts began to wonder if NBC could afford to lose Leno, who rules late night ratings.
Leno was reportedly in talks with ABC, Fox network and Sony, according to The Times.

Cindy KNo NBC could not afford to lose Jay Leno. I have been watching the Tonight Show too many years to mention. I Loved Johnny Carson and I love Jay Leno.
