January Jones looks gorgeous as a blonde bombshell on "Mad Men," but her platinum locks have turned her scalp into a scorched war zone -- the actress has admitted that her hair is falling out after hitting the hair dye bottle too hard.
Back in June, January became a ravishing redhead for her movie "Sweetwater," but she decided to become a brunette beauty in November. However, she had to go back to being a blonde Betty last week.
January Jones told Grazia Daily this about her hair loss: "I have been every color and now my hair is falling out in clumps. I'm going to have to shave it off and wear a wig!" The actress admitted that she likes being blonde best, so she probably won't be stepping away from the bleach anytime soon.
January isn't the only celebrity who has admitted to experiencing hair loss. Here's a look at a few other stars whose strands have suffered:
Mama Monster also knows that blondes have more fun, but she's found that it's no fun to keep lightening her locks -- she told People that she has to get a "chemical haircut" occasionally because of her fried follicles. At least no one would find it bizarre if Gaga decided to go for the bald look.
Jen is known for having one of the best heads of hair in Hollywood, but sometimes she enhances her crowning glory with extensions. Back in 2010, she went a little too far with the fake hair and lopped off her locks. She later told InStyle this about her decision to make the cut: "The real reason I cut my hair? My real hair was getting thinned out again from all the extensions. It was starting to look fake." So she tried to make her hair fuller, but ended up thinning it instead.
No, Selma didn't lose her hair because of the stress of working with Charlie Sheen on "Anger Management" - the actress experienced postpartum hair loss after her son Arthur Saint was born. She told People this about her condition: "This is so not glamorous, but it's true: I need to take longer showers so that I can collect the hair that falls out and throw it away so I don't clog the drain. Why do actresses never talk about that?" Selma also went on to say that she's no Jennifer Aniston-she'd rather go bald than wear hair extensions.
This "Twilight" star's lock loss was caused by stress. When she received Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for her role in "Up in the Air," she wasn't walking on air. Here's what she told David Letterman: "I was so terrified, which was weird. I felt like, ungrateful or something. I felt like I shouldn't be this stressed out. I felt like I was always gonna break out in hives." Her skin managed to stay clear, but Anna said that she actually started losing her hair because of all the stress.
Khloe has revealed that she covers up her thinning hair by darkening her scalp with eye shadow. Luckily now her hair loss isn't as bad as it once was -- Kris Jenner wrote in her memoir that Khloe was so distraught when Robert Kardashian died that she lost her hair in clumps. She had to wear hats when it all fell out.
