Janet Jackson, who was scheduled to hit the stage in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday, has postponed the concert due to illness, her rep said in a statement on Tuesday.

Jackson's stop in Philadelphia (October 2) will also be rescheduled while she recuperates.

The Rock Witchu Tour will resume in Greensboro, North Carolina on October 4.

The singer, 42, was due to perform in Montreal on Monday but canceled the gig after she "got suddenly ill" during her sound check and had to be rushed to the hospital just before show time.

The singer was released from Montreal's Royal Victoria Hospital after a two-hour stay on Monday night, a hospital spokesperson told Canada's CBC News.

Jackson was also hospitalized in L.A. in March after a bout with the flu.

    She needs to retire. Too much pressure. Only few can make it as long as Tina Turner as a true entertainer with energy. I guess when your voice is not so strong, the dancing is quite necessary.
