LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Back in 2004, "Laguna Beach" launched Lauren Conrad into the reality spotlight and two years later, "The Hills" turned her into a full-fledged star.

But now, LC said she is ready to leave it all behind.

"I've been doing it for five years. I think that it's time for them to get someone else to step in," Lauren told OK! magazine after debuting her new spring line at LA Fashion Week on Tuesday.

Following her fashion show, Lauren was spotted hanging out with former BFF-turned-"Hills" nemesis Heidi Montag at STK in Hollywood, leading to reports the two had buried the hatchet and made up.

Heidi, who was at STK dining with boyfriend Spencer Pratt, saw LC at the restaurant and reportedly asked if she could congratulate her on her fashion show. After a brief chat, the girls were seen hugging, according to Us Weekly.

For Lauren, the strain the cameras can put on a relationship may be the reason she ultimately walks away from her hit MTV show.

"It's more difficult when not only everyone knows about your problems, but they make them worse because things escalate and things get twisted," LC recently said. "It's hard to have an actual friendship be torn apart in the media."

    It is going to be a sad day when I watch the final episode of "The Hills". I have been a big fan of Lauren for the past 5 years since her days on "Laguna Beach." However, I think that it might be time for Lauren to pull the plug because she needs to move forward with her awesome fashion career. Lauren is definitely a great role model for teenage girls.     I'm going to miss her if she leaves. I understand tho. If its time its time. I think LC is great. and I happy that her and heidi are friends again. you can tell they both miss each other. If it wasn't for the loser spencer they would have never had these problems. Even if she stops everyone is still going to know about her life! She is a media target!
