NEW YORK, NY -- Britney Spears had a whirlwind birthday on Tuesday that started with a wild performance on "Good Morning America," marking the release of her sixth studio album, "Circus," and the continued later that night with a celebration at New York City's Tenjune nightclub where Access Hollywood was on the scene.

Brit's 27th birthday bash was so exclusive that there was not one, but two VIP areas -- the second was within the first and guarded by three security people. But, the tight security did not stop a slew of stars from showing up to help the pop star celebrate her birthday.

Lance Bass, Heidi Klum, Ciara, Jeremy Piven, Will.i.Am, Russell Simmons, actor Josh Lucas, "Lipstick Jungle's" Robert Buckley and Wade Robson were among Britney's guests at the club that was transformed with circus-themed accouterments, including a hot dog stand, cotton candy machines, a man on stilts and jugglers

The birthday girl also had members from Team Brit by her side, including mom Lynne Spears, dad Jamie Spears, and manager Larry Rudolph -- along with her assistant, choreographer and reps from her label, Jive Records.

The now 27-year-old, who was decked out in a sleek low-cut grey dress, spent most of the night relaxing on a couch in the VIP area, but sprung to her feet and danced when The Clash's "Rock the Casbah" was played. Only at around midnight did she leave her private enclave with a team of security and danced up a storm amidst the club's regular patrons.

It might have been her birthday, but Britney was seen not drinking, with only bottles of VitaminWater on her table.

Guests toasted the birthday girl with champagne and sparklers.

With the help of seven bodyguards, Spears left at 1:30 AM, ironically as someone announced over the PA system that it was "Britney Spears' 27th birthday," and then the club played one of her songs, "Gimme More," from last year's "Blackout" album.

She seemed more down-to-earth years ago when she was younger. Hollywood ruined her. Tinsel town is just flat-out fake.

I believe Britney loves her boys BUT not as much as herself. She seems self-absorbed. And where is the talent? Her videos always portray her as some sex kitten. The economy is suffering, millions are losing jobs, where is the real focus on real issues not shallow enterntainment news about celebs with WAY TOO MUCH money.

Britney needs to put Britney first. Get her life back on track, which she IS doing. Then her two boys next, she is no good to them if her own life is messed up. Grow-up people. And why is she not intitled to a party outside her home? If you had the money you would!!! We all need to be happy for her getting her life back. Stop being jealous and cutting her down! We will all pray for you!
