On Tuesday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, the talk show host teams up with American Idol judge Randy Jackson to find the newly single Simon Cowell a date.

"Simon, dude, he needs the right girl," Jackson tells DeGeneres. "I just keep saying to him, 'I mean, dude, if you keep showing these shots on the jet ski baring your chest, you're not going to find the right girl....'"

What should Cowell do, DeGeneres asks.

"I think he should hang out with you and I," Jackson says. "We should take him out to a nightclub and just see how he navigates. Is he, like, stuck on the wall or does he actually talk to people?

His "social skills need some work," Jackson then says of Cowell, who split with longtime girlfriend Terri Seymour last year.

"Well, duh," DeGeneres says, adding that she doesn't think Cowell puts himself out there enough.

Jackson says Cowell's ideal type needs to be "someone his age [Cowell is 49] through 60 and above."

Can you believe these celebs hooked up?

DeGeneres then shows five pictures of ideal mates: Barbara Walters , Joan Rivers , Betty White , Liza Minnelli and her mother, Betty DeGeneres. (She later says her mom is "too innocent" for the Idol judge.)

Says Jackson, "I think ... Joan Rivers , yes. Joan is perfect. She'll be honest with him."

It's a fact. People would much rather hear a lie than the truth.

He is not as harsh as he was when he first started out. He has to be able to critique the performer. He is no yes man. This is what he gets paid to do. As for his personal life it is just that. MYOB !

Simon needs someone who can be both serious and fun. Someone who is not insecure and someone who he can trust to be loyal. He also needs someone who is bold and will be truthful with him when he gets too forward. And last but not least, he needs someone who enjoys their own alone time and doesn't talk too much. With the way Terri rambles on and screeches, it is amazing he was with her so
