NEW YORK, NY -- David Letterman did not lose advertising from hotel chain Embassy Suites over his controversial joke about one of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's daughters, a rep for the company told Access Hollywood.

According to a spokesperson for the hotel chain, they asked that their ads be removed from rotation during the controversy, but added they do not have a side in the dispute.

"This is an issue between CBS and the Governor and her family. As part of our ongoing advertising buy, we have ads that appear on a rotation through hundreds of Web sites, including CBS.com at times. These ads should not be viewed as an endorsement of either side of the issue," the rep said in a statement. "When a number of our guests complained about advertisements on CBS.com, we temporarily removed the ads from our rotation rather than become part of the controversy. This action should not be viewed as an endorsement of either side, but rather a desire to let the parties resolve the issue independently."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the "Late Show" host created a stir when he made a joke about what he thought was Sarah Palin's 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, being "knocked-up" by New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. Governor Palin thought the joke referred to her 14-year-old daughter, Willow.

Letterman has since apologized for the barb.

"I'm sorry about it, and I'll try to do better in the future," he said.

All you lazy welfare and food stamp people are robbing from the US. If you can't afford healthcare oh well. Work 2 or 3 jobs. Why should we have to pay for you. We have to pay for it so can all you.

Dumbama is such an idiot. CLINTON had the chance to capture osama and didn't. He is the reason for 9/11. I see the great one in charge still has troops in Iraq, and Afghanistan. He is also a big fat liar with all his promises. He is giving all these bailouts to ACORN, auto industries, drug companies. Then they don't have to pay back any money cause they go bankrupt. NICE Los

mledvinka the President we have now can be no worse than the joke of a President we had for the last eight years. He is the reason my GM, Merrill Lync and all these other companies went under. He is the reason why we still have troops over in Iraq getting their heads blown off. He is the reason that 9-11 happened. What have Obama did in 6 months so bad that you want to call him a joke.

Comendy comes in all types & nothing is off limits. Dave's show is for adults & at night & the joke was meant for the 18 year old. Everyone knew it , except for Palin. Dave didnt owe her an apology but was gentleman enough to give it when he heard that it was her 14 year old that indeed was with her in New York. Calling him a pervert was ridiculous! Palin does
