As if the knitting circles and DIY crowd on Tumblr and Pinterest needed another reason to swoon over pictures of the blue-eyed Gosling, now the sensitive and understanding heartthrob has thrown his hat into the arts and crafts ring -- and it's likely an adorable 'chullo' woven from sustainable PETA-approved fibers.
When asked by GQ Australia to describe his perfect day, the "Crazy, Stupid, Love" actor gave the crafting community 'down under' an image or two to ponder. "I did this scene in 'Lars and the Real Girl' where I was in a room full of old ladies who were knitting, and it was an all-day scene, so they showed me how. It was one of the most relaxing days of my life," the kooky dreamboat responded . "If I had to design my perfect day, that would be it." The "Drive" actor then added, "and you get something out of it at the end. You get a nice present. For someone who wants an oddly shaped, off-putting scarf."
However, "America's Most Wanted Man" isn't the only celebrity to know their way around a craft store
It's not all leather catsuits and magazine stylists for the curvy "Iron Man 3" and "The Avengers" beauty. Not only can you see ScarJo's character Charlotte performing a bit of needlework in Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation," but the actress reportedly knows her warp from her weft. The "Hitchcock" star even co-designed an ecologically-friendly beanie with Neff Headwear to benefit the City of Hope cancer treatment centers.
The "Larry Crowne" star has been an avid knitter for a number of years, picking up her knitting needles whenever there's a break on set. She often gifts her creations to the crew and her fellow A-list celebrity chums. Her "Friends" friend, Jennifer Aniston, reportedly has more than a dozen pieces and has even worn Julia's work on the red carpet.
We all know the "Wanderlust" actress loves her leather these days -- rocking a different sexy black mini-dress to the People's Choice Awards, MTV Movie Awards, and "Horrible Bosses" premiere in just the last few years. However, the 43-year-old has been known to do a bit of knitting and purling herself after a crew member gifted her a skein of yarn and some knitting needles.
She might play a feminist trailblazer in the modern office world on the hit AMC show "Mad Men," but the fiery redhead isn't afraid to show off her domestic skills and deft dexterity in real life. The "Drive" actress even occasionally takes her knitting supplies into interviews, and readily admits to being addicted to the hobby -- rarely going longer than 42-hours without picking it back up again.
Even though Courteney Cox promises she will always "love" the "Scream 4" actor, he's been downgraded to "best friend" status. However, Arquette always has his knitting to fall back on. Not only has the "Eight Legged Freaks" star been bitten by the knitting bug, he posed for the cover of the book "Celebrity Scarves 2" a few years back.
When Access Hollywood reporter Tim Vincent went to visit Michael Douglas on the set of a movie, he was surprised to find the Welsh beauty nearby doing a bit of knitting. The "Rock of Ages" actress eagerly quizzed the reporter about British news while continuing to work with her needles and yarn at a surprisingly "frantic pace."
The "New Year's Eve" star might enjoy dolling up her 3-year-old twin daughters and 10-year-old son for their jaunts around New York City. However, the mother-of-three is also an avid knitter after picking up the habit from fellow cast member Kristin Davis while on the set of "Sex and the City."
R. Lee Ermey
That's right, the former drill instructor and actor best known for his role as the abrasive and foul-mouthed Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" knows how to knit. A snapshot of the former tattooed Marine calmly inspecting his weave while sitting on a passenger jet went viral in 2011. Forever ending the debate on whether or not it's acceptable for a real man to knit in public. "Do you maggots understand that?"
