It's official! Supermodel and "Project Runway" host Heidi Klum is set to become the host of "America's Got Talent" when the show returns this summer. The Germany native confirmed the news on Monday, adding that she's really nervous about the new role.
"I just arrived in New Orleans, and it was hard to go to sleep last night. I'm not sure who will be more nervous though - me or the contestants!" she joked to People.
Klum nervous? We highly doubt it.
Fellow judges Howie Mandell and former Spice Girl Mel B. are excited to have her join the panel, but Klum is especially excited to work with shock jock Howard Stern.
"I've always wanted to work with Howard Stern. I think he's so funny, charming, handsome and smart. And, yes, he did tell me to say this," she added with a laugh.
Will Klum have the chops to rate talent? We'll see, but she's not the only fresh face set to take over judging duties on reality competition shows.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell is known for her, uh, volatile personality. Her spirited disposition - and vast experience in the modeling world - makes her the perfect choice to judge on the new modeling competition show "The Face," but will models be afraid of her?
One model in the competition - Brittany Mason - confirmed in February that yes, Campbell can be difficult to get along with, but she's not as bad as everyone says.
"I think the word to really sum up working with Naomi Campbell is... she is 'unpredictable,'" the model told Fox News in February. "She is very passionate about what she does, and her style of mentoring is a sort of tough love"
Shakira and Usher
Shakira and Usher have big shoes to fill when they take over for Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera on NBC's "The Voice" later this month. But, don't assume the new judges will be soft on the contestants.
"I underestimated her," judge Adam Levine said in January of new mom Shakira.
And yes, they both take their duties seriously - Shakira is even feistier than most people think, judging from a new clip of the show.
"Shakira is so sweet and beautiful… and then the claws come out," Shelton said.
"Never underestimate a 5'3" Columbian girl," she joked.
Who will be the best new judge this year?
