LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 23, 2007) - Former "Dancing with the Stars" competitor Heather Mills confirmed she must have surgery due to a broken plate in her pelvis.
Backstage at Monday night's "Dancing," the activist told Access Hollywood that she will go under the knife again.

"I have had a broken plate," she told Access. "I had it when I danced here. I have had it for a while, but what happens is it shifts out sometimes so it is kind of sliced in the middle."
Mills had the plate put in when she lost her leg in 1993 after being hit by a motorcycle in the street.

"When I lost my leg, it crushed my pelvis so I got two metal plates and one of them is sliced in the middle," she explained. "It has lots of screws and it occasionally goes out so I can't move properly."
Mills told Access that she receives treatment from a chiropractor, who puts the screws and plate "back in place every day," but surgery still looms.
"I [have] got to do surgery, but it is four months on my back and I just can't take that time out now, I've got so many commitments with so many things."
Mills is currently embroiled in a divorce with Beatle Paul McCartney. She is also heavily involved in charity work in her native England.
Her latest trip to LA is so she can take part in a panel on "intensive farming, endangered species and global warming," she said.
One thing that isn't keeping her busy though is a film about her life. She told Access, there is no Heather Mills movie in the works and especially not one with Reese Witherspoon.
"Wow, that would be amazing, but there is no movie," she said. "Reese Witherspoon is a fantastic actress, but there will never be a movie."
