THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Actress Heather Locklear was released Friday from a hospital after she was treated in the intensive care unit for an unknown ailment.

She was discharged in the afternoon, Los Robles Hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway-Bowman told The Associated Press. The 50-year-old "Melrose Place" actress was hospitalized Thursday.

The hospital in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks said earlier in the day that Locklear was medically stable and being cared for one-on-one in the ICU. Paramedics transported her from her home in Westlake Village, 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

Locklear has been hospitalized several times over the years. In 2009, she pleaded no contest to reckless driving after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.

Locklear also starred in such TV series as "Dynasty" and "T.J. Hooker."

Her engagement to "Melrose Place" co-star Jack Wagner recently ended. She was previously married to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, and they have a daughter together.

one on one care ... she was either critical for a day, or a danger to herself. Hope she has some good care to get her through whatever it is that is bringing her down.

Being an RN of 20+ years....the emphasis of one on one care in ICU shouldn't come as a surprise. ICU nurses have no more than 3 patients a piece, sometimes only 2. Thus, the one on one care. To be admitted to ICU means there was a VERY serious condition diagnosed. ICU typically means life-threatening.

I suffer from the same thing...for her to be released from ICU to home, is not a good idea. There are certainly some depression/anxiety (possibly bipolar symptoms) going on. She needs some intensive therapy and needs to be on watch. I'm worried from what I read, that it was an overdose. I just pray and hope she seeks in-patient therapy. This does not need to be ignored.

If an overdose why wasn't she held on a 5150 like every other bloke would be?

Worked with Heather years ago. She stands out as one of the sweetest, gentlest people I encountered. She was so sweet, if she didn't like a costume, she would say nothing for fear of hurting the feelings of the wardrobe department. As a result, she ended up on a Worst Dressed List in a national magazine! (It was the Worst Dressed Characters on Television). That's Heather for you. Wishing her well always. You would too if you ever met her.

Blue Cow, you're obviously a dimwitted bumpkin drinking your own toxic moonshine. Just go back to bumping uglies with the animals in your barn.

Its how we bounce back that shows what we are made of, and we all struggle, no matter who you are, old and young, man or woman! Its what we take from the experience and share it thru therapy and exercise and eating right! Its so easy to say and so hard to practice, I have been through the same thing and I promise its no picnic, but if you can break thru the darkness to the light, there is good waiting for you there! Love you Heather with all of my heart and soul darling! Would give my life to save yours anytime no questions asked!

God Bless us all even those non believers...they need the blessing the most!

I hope she will be ok in the future. She sounds very troubled and that is scary in Hollywood.

Poor sweetie. May she have all the love and happiness in her life that she needs, and now.

@Heather, we love you, thank you for all the great work you've done and for being such a sweetheart. You aren't alone, even though we are just probably a faceless mass of fans to you, and even though we know you need more than that in your personal life. Everyone does. Please find your happiness, and remember that other people don't bring it to you. Choose Life!

To all you ladies (and especially those in Hollywood) - stop, stop, STOP with the surgeries and botox injections! It makes your face look plastic and fake, and FAR less attractive than if it aged naturally.

So she went to the hospital for an unnamed illness, was released and is fine and is home. Is this really a news story? Yahoo does it again...posting anything....
