HBO, however, declined to comment, only saying in a statement to The Huffington Post: "We're looking forward to the launch of Season 2 and hope to have good news shortly thereafter."
Girls, starring creator Lena Dunham as a twenty-something woman living in Brooklyn and trying to navigate life after college, premiered last April and garnered five Emmy nominations for its first season, including Best Comedy Series.
Season 2 of Girls premieres on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 9/8c on HBO.
