Happy 42nd Birthday to Matt Damon!
The actor has literally grown up before our eyes from fresh faced Hollywood newbie in "School Ties" to the ultimate leading man in the Jason Bourne trilogy. Off-screen the star has gone from Harvard student to a dedicated family man. These days we see less of the actor on-screen as he focuses his attention on raising his four daughters - Gia, Isabella, Stella and Alexia with wife Luciana. When he does pop up on-screen it is in much more family friendly fare including last year's, "We Bought a Zoo" and "Happy Feet Two". Next up for the actor is a return to his screen-writing and dramatic acting roots with the upcoming film, "Promised Land" which hits theaters on December 28th.
Now as Matt moves into his more mature forties, the actor joins a growing group of stars that keep on proving that some things just get better with age. Here are some of the stars who prove age is just a number:
Ben Affleck: No discussion of Matt Damon is complete without a mention of his "Good Will Hunting" writing partner and co-star. The actor triumphed over a few rough years that included a stint in rehab and that infamous broken engagement to J Lo by becoming a solid family man. All it took was a good woman to help settle this bad boy down. Following his marriage to Jennifer Garner in 2006, the actor has turned his attention to raising their three children - Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. After taking a full year off from the big screen, the actor is set to make his return in the upcoming film, "Argo", which arrives in theaters this Friday.
George Clooney: He's the Hollywood bad boy that nobody really wants to grow up. Admit it, a settled down Clooney followed by a flock of kids isn't quite as enticing as the eternal bachelor aging gracefully into his fifties with a new lady on his arm now and then. While we don't really expect anyone to settle him down forever, the actor has currently found a love match in former WWE girl Stacy Keibler. He most recently won our hearts in the Oscar winning film, "The Descendents".
Brad Pitt: It doesn't seem to matter whether he's walking the red carpet or spending a day doting his attention on his brood of six kids, Brad Pitt just gets better with age. Despite the fact that he is on the verge of turning fifty next year, the actor is in no rush to make life changing decisions. It only took seven years and six children for the star to decide to finally pop the question to his longtime love, Angelina Jolie. We'll next see the star hit the big screen in the upcoming film, "Killing Them Softly", which hits theaters on November 30.
