NEW YORK, New York -- Gwyneth Paltrow has long been an admirer of fashion and with the fall season and New York Fashion Week in full swing, the actress called up a super stylish pal to help offer fans of her newsletter, GOOP, tips for what to wear for work and play.
The actress and mother of two enlisted pal Elizabeth Saltzman, a Fashion Editor and Contributing Editor at Vanity Fair magazine, whom Gwyneth called "one of the best dressed girls I know."

Among the tips Elizabeth suggests:
Lanvin is very in. Alber Elbaz, the artistic director for the group, has created a fabulous "black velvet, sleeveless, floor length, slightingly draped, belted dress."

Other designers super-hot this season? Bottega Venetta and Michelle Obama favorite Derek Lam.
But since most people can't afford high-fashion prices, Elizabeth suggests that people can get similar looks at Topshop, which for a while now, has been available stateside.
Also hot? "Lace and layering" a la Stella McCartney and a "shiny" look courtesy of Balmain.

For a fashion that lasts, Elizabeth recommends collections from Burberry, Prada and YSL.
Meanwhile Erdem ad Rodarte are, "individuals in a class all their own," Elizabeth noted.
And in general, "leather" and "biker" looks are very, very in.
When it comes to accessories, Elizabeth recommends "motorcycle boots and kick a** heels."
