NEW YORK, New York -- Joaquin Phoenix may insist he's given up acting for a budding rap career, but at least one of his former co-stars isn't buying it.

"I'm not a hundred percent sure that that's really going to be the case," Gwyneth Paltrow told MTV UK. "I think that there might be some other explanation or something going on. I'm not quite sure what, but I can't believe that he's really going to quit forever to become a rapper. It seems odd."

Back in November, Joaquin hit the premiere of his recent movie "Two Lovers," co-starring Gwyneth, with the words "Good Bye" written on his knuckles, telling reporters he was moving on to "greener pastures."

And eariler this month at his own rap concert, he caused a frenzy at a Miami club when he leapt from the stage to go after a heckler in the audience.

But while Gwyneth appears to be part of the popular mindset the whole thing is some sort of an elaborate PR stunt, perhaps as the wife of music superstar Chris Martin and a good friend of hip-hop mogul Jay-Z , she could offer some advice to her former co-star as he refines his rapping chops.

"What advice would I give to Joaquin?" she laughed. "Hmm ... maybe to go live in the projects for a few years to get some authenticity, maybe."

So to be a good rapper you have to live in the projects and where did she come up with this assumption? from hanging with Jay-Z?? Some people really need to shutup and learn to think before they speak. what an idiot no wonder her career sucks ass.

I agree with Gwyneth. And anyone who thinks her comment is racist is probably a racist themselves.... rap music has become very diverse. Most people cause their own issues, as does Joaquin.

Paltrow is a decent actress and clearly an idiot. That should make her an authority on Phoenix, who was a poor actor and is also clearly an idiot. But, at the end of the day, WHO CARES?!?

This comment comes from someone with a stupid website that makes no sense called goop. Yes, she has had a Princess life but has shown more ignorance as those whom she claims Joaquin should get to know.
