Gwen Stefani covers the October 2012 issue of Elle UK and it appears as if she hasn't aged in years. She looks absolutely stunning in a funky black floral dress by Alexander McQueen and a top by Peter Pilotto. Her hair is pulled into a half-up, half-down style and she's sporting heavy black eyeliner. The cover comes in time for a little promotion for the sixth No Doubt album - "Push and Shove" - which is set for release on September 18. It's not the first time the beauty has graced the cover of Elle. She's actually been on many Elle covers over the past several years, but which one has been her best?
Elle February 2007
Her February 2007 cover of Elle is fantastic! Her blonde hair is in voluminous curls, her eyeliner is a little more low-key than on other covers and the color lipstick suits her skin tone perfectly. She's decked out in a white dress that has a sweetheart neckline and a wide silver belt around her waist. Her look is a bit softer than we usually see her while still incorporating her original style. This cover is definitely up there as one of her best.
Elle UK March 2007
On the March 2007 cover of Elle UK, the songstress was sporting a short sleeve black top, a high-waisted maroon skirt and a black belt that accentuates her tiny waist. She had blunt bangs at the time and wore her blonde hair straight and slightly below her shoulders. Her hairstyle and pale brown lipcolor didn't suit the singer, and the skirt would have looked better if it weren't high-waisted. She looks lovely, but it's not one of her most flattering covers.
Elle July 2009
The then 40-year-old covered the July 2009 issue of Elle, which came out smack in the middle of the No Doubt tour that happened right after Gwen got back together with the band.
In the accompanying interview the singer spoke about her return to the band. "Everybody's making it like there's all this new tension, you know, like I stepped away from the band and now they're jealous of me, and look, maybe there is a little bit of that."
On the cover, she's rocking a black-and-red striped short sleeve shirt with a multi-colored skirt. Her hair is pulled into an updo and she's wearing the fabulous bright red lipstick that we love on her. The cover showcases her funky, No Doubt glam punk style she's known for.
Elle Denmark September 2009
While her hair and makeup look gorgeous on the September 2009 cover of Elle Denmark , we just can't get behind the black satin one sleeve dress. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if there was actually a shoulder to the sleeve. We're also not fond of the seriously chunky necklace that looks like it needs someone standing behind her just to hold it up. She's certainly had better ensembles.
Elle UK April 2011
The wife of Gavin Rossdale graced The Romance Issue of Elle UK in April 2011 and it is a beautiful photo. Gwen and Gavin have been together since 1996 so she was clearly an ideal choice for the issue. In front of a blue background, she's clad in a nude frock while lying on her stomach as her blonde locks flow in voluminous waves. She's wearing fuchsia lipstick, and is one of the few ladies who can actually pull it off without looking ridiculous. When discussing makeup in the interview, she says "I wear make-up every single day; I like to wear make-up for Gavin and I don't feel energised till I've put it on, then I'm ready to go."
Elle May 2011
The mother-of-two graced the May 2011 Woman in Music issue of Elle while wearing a Givenchy brown, white and black wool dress that had leather sleeves. Her hair was teased and slicked back while her makeup consisted of dark liner and nude lips. Her makeup is fabulous and the dress is just her style. She's arguably one of the most lovely ladies in the music business, and when it comes to her appearance she says "I mean, I'm very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual."
Elle June 2011 - Serbia and Vietnam
The stunner graced the Elle June 2011 cover in two countries - Serbia and Vietnam - and it's no surprise they would want to use the photo twice. In what's arguably her best Elle cover, she's wearing a white long-sleeve top with a cutout down the center and a long black body-hugging skirt that had a thigh-high slit. Her hair is teased and slicked back and she went with smokey eyes and nude lips. Everything about this photo is sheer perfection.
Which of her Elle covers is your favorite?
