Guy Ritchie: Madonna is "Retarded"

Guy Ritchie has mixed feelings about his ex-wife Madonna.

"I still love her," he says in the November issue of Esquire. "But she's retarded, too.

Ritchie, 41, split from Madonna, 51, last December after eight years of marriage (they share custody of their sons Rocco, 9, and David Banda, 4), but he still seems impressed by the pop icon.

"She's a manifester, if there ever was one," he says. "First-rate manifester. Madonna makes things happen. Put Madonna up against any 23-year-old, she'll outwork them, outdance them, outperform them. The woman is broad."

Ritchie is still reeling from their split.

"You can't tell someone when they're getting divorced that their pain is an illusion," he says. ""I'm f***ing telling you, I feel it. I've been through that... No one can say you don't feel that."

Madonna -- who is now dating 23-year-old Brazilian model Jesus Luz -- has also been hurt.

Asked on the Late Show Sept. 30 if she'd ever wed again, she replied, "I think I'd rather get run over by a train."

She also referred to her marriage to director Guy Ritchie as "the Bush years."

Sniped the singer, "It was a good time to be out of America."
