"It is with profound happiness and sheer delight that Christopher Gavigan and I can say that another sweet Gavigan baby is on the way!" she wrote.

Being away from her children -- Luke and Eve -- while she's filming is a struggle for Capshaw, but the busy working mom knows that her kids will no doubt appreciate her juggling act as they get older.

I don't know why people feel the need to give her crap for being a working mother. At least she gets more time off than most normal working moms. My mom was a single mother who busted her butt, enjoyed her job, and supported my brother and I for 14 years once she and our bio-father divorced. She has a supportive husband and no doubt has a supporting family. As long as your children know they are loved and feel loved, supported, and nurtured, who cares if mommy is home every day? I love my mom to bits and pieces - I gained an awesome step dad in my early teens who happened to be in the military and wasn't home every day and I still love him more than my bio-father. Why? Because he loves me like his own, supported me in my life's ventures, and never made me feel like I came last in life. Give the woman a break.

She sounds very grounded for having been raised by celebrity parents. Congratulations to her and her family.

Uh, I think they would love you for staying home with them, you know, putting them first instead of your career? Just a thought...

Women have enough guilt in their lives without outsiders who don't know their situation adding to it. If you work, you feel guilty for not being with your kids. If you're with your kids you feel guilty for not making a financial contribution, and you feel less like yourself because you're time is devoted to everyone else in your family. She's RIGHT to know that her own happiness will impact her children. You don't have to like her decision but it is HERS to make and it deserves to be respected.

acting is one of those professions where you have the wherewithall to pick and choose where you want to work or even IF you want to work at all. i don't see anythign wrong w/ working moms (gads ... i happen to be one too !!) doing it b/c they often find that balance of home/work/family that works for them.

The same can be said about him! He's putting his career ahead of his kids as you say she does. Why is he allowed to work but she should be forced to choose between having children and having a career?
