O.J Simpson's five-minute apology Friday in a Las Vegas courtroom was that of "a monster who was simply trying to find a way to get the judge to give him a better deal," Fred Goldman, the father of slain Ron Goldman, said Monday on NBC's Today show.

Despite Simpson's emotional apology to a judge, "I don't believe for one single second he has an ounce of remorse in his body," Fred said. "He's never apologized for anything that he's horribly done in his life."

Simpson was sentenced to 9 to 33 years in prison on 12 charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery stemming from an incident in 2007 where Simpson struggled with two sports memorabilia dealers over items that he claimed belonged to him.

The sentencing comes 13 years after he was cleared in the murders of Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.

"Some sort of karma," said Fred. "And good karma. It is remarkable that, ultimately, now, we have seen him go to jail."

Added Ron Goldman's sister, Kim: 'It was a good day for us. It's been a long time coming."

She added that Simpson "obviously will never pay for what he did to Ron and Nicole, but he is finally going to be held accountable for something. Nine years is better than nothing; 33 sounds great. Well take what we can."

"We wanted to see him, frankly, walk into that room in shackles, walk out in shackles; walk out knowing he was going back to jail, where he belongs," said Fred.

In a 1997 civil trial, Simpson was found liable for the deaths and ordered to pay a $33.5 million judgment to the victims' families.

Said Kim, "This time hes going back to his 7-by-14 jail cell alone."

Pam, you're so right! The jury was just plain stupid! One juror even stated that they didn't understand what DNA was so they disregarded its importance!! They were a bunch of racist, do-nothings in which some had their sights set on writing books later! Have fun with Bubba, OJ!

thx cher! look,OJ was acquitted b/c of a stupid, racist jury doodled &/or nodded off during crucial, techy testimony, & wanted payback 4 an illperceived notion they've been persecuted by whts. evidence was overwhelmingly convincing of his guilt. if u saw the trial u'd know, 'gethefacts'. he absolutely got away w/murder.

Did OJ kill Nicole and Ron? No he did not. Does he know who did? Yes I am sure he does. Was it because he had her killed or was it a hit becuase of drugs? Do any of us really know what took place? No because we were not there and yes they had the glove they had the shoe but who is to say he was not set up. No I don't feel sorry for OJ because he has done some stupid %@!*#.

I find it so funny that people are saying he killed two people well a jury said he there was not enough evidence to prove he did. I am sorry for all three families because the kids lost their mother and Ron's family lost him. I would never say get over it but I would say that everyone wanted OJ in jail but it was ok for Robert Blake to walk away after killing his wife.

Pam, you're absolutely right! That needed to be addressed! Also, if someone were walking their dog past the murder scene & witnessed the killings, he probably would have killed that person....& the dog too! He's a pig that'll make friends with 'Bubba' in the shower.Die in prison,OJ!

4 killing 2 people so violently, OJ deserved the death penalty. i don't care WHAT color he is, it isn't about race, so ppl should stop making racist remarks. just remember he murdered 2 whites, & i've yet 2 see a white bring that up! & goldman had a right 2b there. OJ killed his son! how'd u feel if it was your relative??

For those of you who say that the Goldmans should "move on", do you think that you would be able to move on if the man that murdered your child in cold blood was out walking the streets living the high life, knowing he was GUILTY AS H*LL? Of course not. Personally, I hope that OJ rots in jail. It is totally KARMA, and I am a firm believer in it. What goes around comes aroun
