The 70th Annual Golden Globes did not disappoint. The show sent awards' season into overdrive with its zany speeches and comedic routines, fashion hits and misses, odd celebrity pairings and of course, talented award-winners. "Argo," "Homeland" and "Girls" were all deserving winners in their various categories.
The Golden Globes is a production of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It is often considered to be the slightly more casual cousin to the Academy Awards. All in all, it was a memorable night.

Jodie Foster's Speech
Foster is known for her chops as a serious actor and director. For years, those "in the know" gossiped about whether the thespian was also a lesbian. Well, wonder no more. Jodie came out of the closet last night by courageously explaining that she was never in the closet to begin with. Her speech was rambling but heartfelt.
"I beat Meryl!"
Jennifer Lawrence has quickly become the toast of Hollywood. The young star who got noticed in the "Hunger Games" proved her merit in "Silver Linings Playbook." An actress of any age who can hold her own against Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper is exceptional.
The Golden Globes proved that Jennifer can hold her own against someone else - Meryl Streep. After beating the woman often considered the greatest performer of our times, Lawrence proclaimed playfully, "I beat Meryl!" Apparently the would-be gaffe is a line from the movie "The First Wives Club."
Red on the Red Carpet
Let's face it; red carpet fashion rivals the actual awards for attention. This year there were more hits than misses. Some stars like Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lopez opted for virginal white or ivory. Red, however, was the color of the evening.
Whether it was crimson or burgundy there were 50 shades of stylish red up and down the carpet. Stars rocking the red trend include: Zooey Deschanel, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Poehler, Claire Danes, Alison Pill, Melissa Rauch and Naomi Watts.
President Bill Clinton
One never expects to see a former Commander-in-Chief at such a Hollywood shindig. Nonetheless, stars in attendance and folks at home were equally surprised when ex President Bill Clinton took the stage. The onetime "leader of the free world" received a standing ovation as he appeared to announce the film "Lincoln."
