The 2012 Golden Globe Awards celebrated the best in entertainment from some of the most inventive minds in television and the cinema. The stars were just as creative in expressing their personal style as their artistic talents - for better or worst. Some, in fact, deserve an award for their efforts. Click on the name of the award for a picture of the fashion that inspired it.
The Grecian Goddess Award - one of the most puzzling fashion trends of the night was the resurrection of the flowing, deconstructed crepe gown. Emma Stone wore it best, but many others joined her, including: Jenna Dewan (who jazzed it up by wearing it sans back and sides), Viola Davis , and Mila Kunis .
The Boring Black Dress Award - second cousin of the "I Give Up" dress, this frock screams, "please don't notice me, Joan Rivers." Sadly there was a three way tie for this one, between Maya Rudolph, Calista Flockhart , and Melanie Griffith .
The 'Can I Just Wear My Old Prom Dress?' Award - Tina Fey ran away with this one for her strapless plum number with wads of tulle all over the skirt. Hey the good news is, she can cut the bottom off tomorrow and use it as a throw rug.
The Cher Award - Lea Michele channeled the flamboyant songstress to perfection in a silver number with lots of revealing black mesh.
Just Rolled Out of Bed Award - Jessica Lang, who won the statuette for Best Actress in a Series, Mini Series or TV movie for "American Horror Story" showed up in a non-descript black dress with "just rolled in the hay" hair. The grunge look went out 15 years ago, Jessica - sorry.
My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding Award - Charlize Theron wins this award for the dress most likely to be worn by an Irish Traveler bride on her wedding day (all she need is a puffy crinoline and three dozen rhinestone butterfly pins).
