LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Following the news of Estelle Getty's death, some of her Hollywood counterparts are reacting to the sad news.

Among those remembering Estelle were her "Golden Girls" co-stars Rue McClanahan, Bea Arthur and Betty White.

White, who played Rose Nylund on the legendary sitcom, released the following statement to Access Hollywood on Tuesday:

"The only comfort at this moment is that although Estelle has moved on, Sophia will always be with us."

Meanwhile, Arthur, who despite being just a year younger than Getty was cast as her daughter on the series, also remembered her friend and colleague.

"Our mother-daughter relationship was one of the greatest comic duos ever, and I will miss her," Arthur said in a statement to Access.

McClanahan, who played the over-the-top Blanche Deveraux on "Golden Girls," also offered words of remembrance for her friend.

"Estelle always wanted to be an actress and she achieved that goal beyond her dreams. Don't feel sad about her passing, she will always be with us in her crowning achievement - Sophia," McClanahan said in a statement to Access. "I love you slats!!!"

My mother-in-law is Italian and I have always described her as just like Getty's Sophia. She really nailed that role as the Italian Mom. I am sorry to hear about her passing and sorry that she suffered in her last days. She was one in a million. Thankfully we have her beautiful work to enjoy for years to come. God Bless Estelle Getty.

I love the Golden Girls and especially Sophia. I watch them almost everyday and watched them all the time when the show started. No one could have played Sophia like Estelle did with the spunk and enthusiasm she put into the role. Thank you Estelle for the years of laughter you gave the world. God obviously needed some humor in heaven and brought you there to supply it. God bless Estelle.

"Rose" (Betty White) is right! We lost Estelle, but now she is resting in a much better place. And she left Sophia, the zesty Sicilian with us, to keep filling us with laughter.

With bad dementia I doubt Estelle her self would have wanted to live on and I know where she has gone is far beautifuller than this world. I had a near death experience after a serious accident left me fighting for life on life support and it's when I saw the after life. Estelle you are in the best place and thankyou for giving us so many years of laughs and first class acting you
