Last night, "Glee's" creator Ryan Murphy teased a possible reunion for Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss).
As he tweeted, "Gleeks...two couples getting back together by Valentine's Day. One might be preggers. Guesses? Kurt is not bringing Adam to the wedding. His date is Blaine. They sing a duet for Emma. And make out in a steamy car. Ur welcome."
He also threw a bone at the legions of "Finchel" and "Brittana" shippers, tweeting, "Never give up on Finchel. Never give up on Klaine. Never give up on Brittana. Never give up on Wemma. Happy endings."
Should "Klaine" Reunite Right Away?
My guess is that "Klaine" will reunite before Valentine's Day. Over Christmas, we saw them rekindle a friendship, as Kurt seemed cautiously open to the idea of a reconciliation.
Although Kurt and Blaine seem to be endgame, the writers would be wise to keep them apart for awhile. Before Blaine cheated, this couple was was on a one-way train to Dullsville. They were due for a refreshing shakeup.
The writers missed an opportunity by not further exploring a "Kurtofsky" story line. Every time they give Max Adler a story line, he tops the Twitter trending topics. He and Chris are arguably the most gifted actors on the show, and I find their on-screen chemistry much more compelling than Chris and Darren.
Of course, I am probably in the minority. Upon accepting his People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Comedic Actor, Chris even thanked the legions of "Klainers" and fan-fiction writers.
"Finchel" or "Brittana"?
Between Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith), and Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera), my guess is that "Brittana" will reunite first.
I don't see the writers keeping Brittany and Santana apart for too long. Given the backlash that the writers have received for Brittany's new relationship with Sam (Chord Overstreet), I doubt Ryan would want to further disenfranchise the lesbian blogger community.
As for Rachel and Finn, I don't see them reuniting until at least the season finale. Rachel is really thriving as a single woman in New York City, and this character growth is exciting to see. We know that she and Finn are endgame, so why not let it happen in its own time?
As for the possible pregnancy, I would be disappointed if it's anyone other than Emma (Jayma Mays). So far, Sue (Jane Lynch) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) have gotten pregnant on the show. How ironic is that these two characters are the most ill-suited for motherhood?
Besides, it would certainly be interesting to see how a character with OCD copes with the changes that her body would undergo during pregnancy.
Is Ryan Pandering?
I have to wonder if Ryan was pandering a bit with his tweets. It all came across as a bit desperate.
"Finchel," "Klaine," and "Brittana" shippers make up the bulk of the gleek community. Given the show's ratings drop, it seemed like he was begging fans of these couples to stick around by telling them not to "give up" on "happy endings."
Which couples will be back together by Valentine's Day? Should Kurt and Blaine reunite right away, or would they benefit from some time apart? Will "Glee" ever return to its season 1 glory, or is season 4 doomed for good?
