LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Matthew Morrison is keeping busy helping the kids of "Glee" hit a high note on the small screen. But off-screen, the Broadway-turned-primetime star will soon be busy making beautiful music all his own.
Matthew, who plays "Glee" club mentor Will Schuester on the hit FOX show, revealed to Access Hollywood he will soon be working on his own album.

"Right now, I've almost finalized a record deal and am going to be working on an album," he told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush.
And what sort of sound does America's favorite teacher envision for his debut release?

"It's going to be different. I would consider it a classier Justin Timberlake album," he revealed. "It's going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats."
"Kind of like Timberlake meets [Michael] Buble?" Billy asked.
"Exactly," Matthew said.

Of course, music is nothing new to the 30-year-old star. A veteran of Broadway, Matthew's stage credits include "Footloose," "The Rocky Horror Show," "Hairspray," "South Pacific" and "The Light in the Piazza," which earned the actor a Tony nomination in 2005 for his role as Fabrizio Nacarelli.
But conquering different mediums is all part of the master plan, the thesp revealed.
"I want to be like the next Gene Kelly. I want to kind of do it all," he noted. "I want to have a career in movies, television, music and Broadway - but have them all be separate, their own entities."
And while Matthew isn't the only "Glee" star planning their own solo album -- show creator Ryan Murphy told Billboard that Lea Michele (another former Broadway star-turned-"Glee" club member) is also considering a solo project -- one endeavor Matthew won't be sharing with his cast mates is the reported show tour set for summer 2010.
"You probably know as much as I do about it. I just read about it online," Matthew joked with Billy. "I don't think I'm going to be involved in that. Mr. Schuester likes to take his summer break."
