LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Yes, Spring is officially upon us. Here in Los Angeles it's in the 80's this week (sorry to rub it in for those of you where it hasn't quite turned warm yet). So what does the new season mean for your hair? Patrick Melville, Celebrity Hairstylist (clients include Eva Longoria Parker and Halle Berry ) and Owner of the Patrick Melville Salon and Spa fills us in on Spring hair trends!

THINK LONGER: "Allow the hair to grow a little longer for Spring and Summer to soften the neckline," Patrick says. Fringes for the bangs should be more sweeping as opposed to straight and blunt across. Think Reese Witherspoon whose side-swept bangs are perfection! The longer hair "creates more versatility especially when pulling the hair back in a soft up-do, which looks beautiful with Spring dresses."

LUSCIOUS LAYERS: "Longer layers are definitely in for Spring. Layers create more weight and movement, similar to Molly Sims ' look," Patrick says. ( Jennifer Aniston also sports long layers). "The current layers are going to be sexy, soft, bi-level up-dos. Bi-level refers to one side of the hair sliding behind the ear while the other will drop over the eye and brush the cheekbone... It's all about big, open waves with sexy, shiny hair and lots of volume."
