Glam Slam: Fall Fashion -- Lust Or Bust?

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Which Fall fashion trends are worth the money? I'm breaking down what makes my lust list...and what is a bust!

BIKER JACKET
Yes! Yes! Yes! This has been a style staple since James Dean back in the day. The good thing about a biker jacket is that it will always come back in style. I have leather jackets I bought years ago that still work. Totally worth the investment, but you can also get in on the trend without breaking the bank. Cheap chic chains like Forever 21 are featuring faux leather jackets that are an affordable option. And BCBG has some cool versions made out of comfy jersey.

VERDICT: LUST

BOLD SHOULDER
Victoria Beckham is a big fan of the bold shoulder look and with her petite frame and cropped hair, I really think it really works for her. But, you've gotta be careful with this trend. It can go to dramatic extremes, which works well for on the runway or the red carpet, but is tougher to pull off in real life. I tried on a jacket that looked great on the hanger, but the super-sized shoulder pads made me look like a linebacker for the NY Giants. For me, this trend depends on finding the right jacket.

VERDICT: LUST, BUT NOT A MUST

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS
Rihanna rocks this look- me, not so much. If you aren't a thin, leggy model type, you can end up looking squat so proceed with caution!

LEATHER SHORTS
A major fashion risk taker like Chloe Sevigny or Gwyneth Paltrow can pull off shorts on the red carpet and maybe they work for a 22 year old who's on a nightclub crawl. But I don't like this look at all and spending money on something so trendy is just not worth it to me - I don't care how hot you are.

VERDICT: TOTAL BUST

ANIMAL PRINT
Go wild! Animal prints are one of those wardrobe classics that always come back in style. Everyone from Dolce & Gabbana to Ann Taylor showed animal prints, so this is one trend available in all price ranges. If you are worried about looking too wild, go for small doses with a scarf or a belt. Tip: Go for a classic shape and your animal print (whether it be a pump or ballet flat, a purse or a scarf) will last for years to come.
