Gisele Bundchen may have made a name for herself strutting around in her underwear, but the supermodel is set to become the world's very first billionaire model.
She's been a fixture on the catwalks and on the pages of the fashion magazines for more than a decade. She's earned the spot as the #1 supermodel in the world. She's snagged herself a gorgeous quarterback husband and had an adorable baby boy. Now the Brazilian supermodel is quickly climbing her way to a title never achieved by a celebrity model - billionaire.
Thanks to her lucrative exclusive modeling deals with Versace, Dior, and Victoria's Secret, she became a household name. Now it's thanks to her burgeoning lifestyle brand of lingerie, eco-friendly skincare, and shoes that she's set to climb into a brand new income bracket. In 2011, "Forbes" estimated that her income over the last decade from modeling earned her more than $250 million with her lifestyle brand expected to double that income in just one year. Bring in her husband's annual earnings and she is one half of one of the most powerful celebrity couples in the world.
If Gisele does earn the title of billionaire, she will join a very exclusive group of celebrities to earn the moniker. Here's a look at a few of the other celebrity money makers:
Jessica Simpson: She's not worth a billion yet, but her brand is set to make more than $1 billion in sales annually. Although the expectant singer will see only a fraction of those earnings thanks to the licensing deal her daddy, Joe Simpson, negotiated back in 2005. Her actual earnings are expected to be about $30 million per year.
The Kardashians:They like to claim that they are on their way to becoming billionaires, but the family has a way to go. On the up side, their Kardashian Collection landed in Sears stores this year and is expected to earn $200 million. Unfortunately, the girls will only see a small percentage of that number. Given the heat the family has taken this year due to that unfortunate wedding / divorce, they may never quite reach the ranks of billionaires.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: They have been building an empire since they were toddlers. Thanks to all those videos, fashions, and movies, the girls have acquired more money than most of us will see in our lifetimes. Even though their brand may have generated earnings in the billions, the girls have built a nest egg estimated to be around $150 million. Their high end clothing lines, The Row and Elizabeth and James, are expected to keep the girls in spending money for years to come.
